Neil Stephen

As I’ve mentioned on my previous blog post, for one of our classes we were asked to produce a magazine. Our group decided that our theme would be University-wide and I was assigned to be the photojournalist of the group. Since it was not that of a big deal for me, (except bringing the goddamn bulky heavy camera, of course) I was glad to help some groups when they had to conduct photoshoots. The shoots weren’t really over-the-top, but I was delighted to help my classmates anyway :)

Aim and Sandy’s group asked if I could do a series of photoshoots for their selected models and I was shocked when I saw my subject/model… Neil.

Not that I had a huge crush on him or something… Yes, anyone would agree that this man is indeed beautiful with that captivating smile of his that can make any girls heart melt, but I was kind of ticked off at first since he is an Accountancy student and our classrooms then were next to each other so I literally see him anytime of the day in the corridors. I didn’t like him because of his mayabang aura but maybe that’s already taken since he has the looks, hence, the attitude.

But while I was taking his photos, I can’t help but smile whenever I peek in the viewfinder and see his adorable smile. Later on I came to realize that first impressions don’t really last and you really shouldn’t be judging a book by its cover. There’s more to Neil than what meets the eye. (Again, no I do not have a crush on him.)

It was a breeze to have his photos taken since he knew immediately what I wanted from him as his photographer. I do not always say this because believe me others were so… Hmm, I wouldn’t be mentioning names since I won’t post their photos anyway. Whenever I asked him to position himself in a certain place, he knew exactly what to do with his smile, his stance, his pose and the general-feel of the photograph and scenery itself. I guess that’s because he has a lot of experience already, eh?

You are the perfect example of the famous adage “Don’t judge the book by its cover,” because I learned in just a wee bit of hours that we’ve spent together with Aim and Sandy that you are not just a pretty boy who will make all the girls swoon and cry eventually… You have a good heart and I found out too that you’re a funny guy who likes to laugh at us when we ate at that fastfood. Thank you for making my friends laugh because of your sudden burst of laughter for what reason we can’t and won’t comprehend. Continue making girls’ hearts melt with your smile and I do hope that you pass Accountancy and be a CPA one day, Neil. :)
